Let me begin by apologizing to you. We have been so busy trying to keep up with everything going on that we haven't had a chance to blog and keep everyone updated.
On July 13th 2021, we celebrated our 1 year birthday. We had our first annual "Hold Your Fork Dinner and Auction" on July 16th, where we were able to celebrate the ministry's birthday and fundraise. It was a night filled with fun, celebration, laughter and a few happy tears. We were able to share stories and testimonies of how God is using From the Heart for His glory. We were also able to hear from guys and gals from local recovery centers on their journey. It was definitely a night to remember!
Since the Hold Your Fork event, we have been super busy preparing meals for homeless and less fortunate in our community. Each week, we serve homecooked meals downtown Somerset, Ky. We average about 80 meals each week and over the past few weeks, we have grown. Last Thursday, we served 112 meals. Wow! It is incredible to know that after a year of ministering to and loving on people, they have seen our consistency and are beginning to trust us and open up to us. We had a woman to tell us, "Thank you for loving my people the way you do" and my response was, "Your people are my people".
God has placed in us a love like no other. "We love because He first loved us" 1 John 4:19
When we began From the Heart, we all knew that we were being called to love people right where they are at in life and God has shown us the way and placed in our hearts a desire to serve others with His love. "Let all that you do be done with love." 1 Corinthians 16:14.
On September 11, 2021, we gave out our 1000th bag! In 14 months, we have given out 1000 Heart bags.. 1000 seeds planted, 1000 people have began their journey of recovery with the Word of God, 1000 people shown that there is hope, 1000 lives changed all for the glory of God! We have had many doors opened in recovery centers. We currently have a recovery center waiting on 600 Heart bags. We are waiting for God to come through and provide the funds that we need to make this possible. In the waiting, we are learning to trust solely on God's promises and that we need to get out of His way and let Him do what only He can do.
We have the opportunity to travel to Recovery Rallies and sell shirts as a means of fundraising. We are a 501(c)(3) non profit organization. Other than fundraising, we are 100% donation based. Brothers and Sisters in Christ, we are asking for prayers as we continue to grow. If God is laying it on your heart to donate, please know that we believe in being frugal and being good stewards of all that God provides for us and you will get a tax deductible receipt for your donation.
If you would like to donate, I am going to add the link. If you have any questions on how you can help, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
We pray that you have an incredibly blessed day!
From our hearts to yours,
